Headcanons: Space Itinerancy

Marvelous' race originated on Earth many, many years ago, but left sometime in the 1500s.

While in space, they interbred with many different alien types, including the kaijin commonly seen across the series.

Thus, they have impeccable immune systems/physiology and can live in basically any habitat, no matter atmosphere, temperature, etc.

They refuse to settle down and live on any one planet, instead wandering between spacecrafts, taking odd jobs.

Each itinerant group probably has its own territorial solar system. Marvelous' was Aldebaran.

An accident happened when Marvelous was seven or eight (human years); he was separated from his extended community and left behind on an unmanned shuttle. They never came back for him, maybe because they were killed by Zangyack. He started traveling alone after that.

Headcanons in General

He eats eight meals a day. He kind of has to, as his healing system depends on it. This is why he can withstand things normal humans can't (like the blast radius from that bomb in episode 47). This is also why the other characters rush to feed him whenever he gets injured.
